More than just spreading aromatic fragrance, incense has a lot to do with our prayer and worship. Moreover, incense has a therapeutic effect. An assortment of fragrant incense is available in the market to suit every mood. . The Incenses are used as an aid to relaxation, meditation, to heal disorders of mind and body, to help reduce the effects of stress and of course to scent the air.
Typically, the incense is made from a blend of different herbs, spices, plants and minerals. These ingredients, whose number can range anywhere from a handful to as many as 108, are mixed and ground together into a paste. They are then shaped into sticks and dried.
At BIA Incense Institute, people with different forms of disabilities prepare herbal incense. Unlike the general kind of incense sticks available in the market with the use of chemical and artificial fragrance, we use pure herbs, which not only is useful in spreading natural and timeless fragrances, but also helps to create sustainable employment opportunity for the disabled people in the long run. This project was also selected out of the 300 business proposals received from the disabled people in the event ‘Lets Join Hands’ organized by BIA Foundation.
